Las Positas … you are simply the best

Las Positas College is no doubt one of the best community colleges in the Bay Area; in Northern California for that matter.
It is such a relief to come to this sanctuary after the hell hole some of us call high school. But the real questions are why did they make it so rough for students in high school? Why did the academics seem harder back then? Why were we so limited in selection and choices?
Even the petty stuff like the teacher, haha, they were called 'teachers', not 'instructors', telling the class to "stop texting! Don't sit next to your friends! Did you do your reading last night?"
Controlling.
In college, it is exactly the opposite. Its such a freedom being away from all the stress of the K-12 system.
Going to college is simply a life changing experience. LPC offers courses in almost any field imaginable, from criminal justice to graphic design and everything in between. All of my interests are here.
The courses offer catered to my interests.
Every single one of them.
Journalism, chemistry, page design, forensic science, game programming. Oh, all the choices.
The scale ranges from the typical math, science, English, and psychology to more rare and unusual programs including viticulture and winery technology, surgical technology, and even Italian. There truly is something for everyone.
The campus has a diverse student population. It is a pleasure to have classmates from distinct and diverse backgrounds. It makes every day seem fresh and new. Due to our low numbers, we have gotten to know each other well.
The LPC's campus is one of the most beautiful in the vicinity. Despite that the majority of the campus was built in the 1970s, construction has taken place several years prior to 2009. I feel welcome each day that I drive up the hill towards the campus.
Las Positas offers the very best of the best. The school is a treasure trove of opportunity, a cultural melting pot, and has beautiful ambiance. After I am through with my stay here at LPC, I will say to myself, "Time well spent."
