The women didn't have nearly as good a performance in their race, but were happy with their results.
The Hawks women team - consisting of mostly beginning runners - did their best to stay competitive. What hurt the Hawks more than anything during the race was the extreme heat most of the women aren't used to.
"I think the girls ran really well considering the heat," coach Navarro said, "They're just not used to running in the heat, They're not acclimated to the heart there at Toro Park."
Monica Casentini Finished in first place for the women Hawks with a time of 26:29. Casentini was upset after here race finishing two minutes off her pace from running Toro Park two weeks ago.
"I don't like the hills," Casentini said of the course. "The heat was a big factor in for me because it made me go slower than I normally do. I also felt really sick while I was running in the race because of the heat.
Finishing behind Casentini for the Hawks was twin sister Megan Casentini with a time of 28:57.
