The Lady Hawks were lead by the solid goalkeeping of Katie Vayer-Jenkins in their 3-0 shutout over the Hawks of Evergreen Valley.
It was a shooting gallery for the Evergreen Hawks with 26 shots on goal in two halves of play. Blocking all 26 shots was Vayer-Jenkins, putting up her best numbers of the season.
"She was perfect out there," said assistant coach Stacie Alberico.
The offence finally clicked for the Hawks with great passing allowing Whitney Morgan to get two goals during the course of the game.
"We were able to find each others feet out there," said Morgan. "I had great assists from Ashlee and Chelsea."
Ashlee Sivret scored the third goal of the game, for her sixth goal of the season.
Las Positas vs. Skyline
Soccer is more than skill as the Lady Hawks found out in their 5-2 loss against Skyline on Oct. 23.
The game would have been closer than 5-2 had it not been for some unlucky breaks for the Hawks throughout the game.
"Luck wasn't on our side," said assistant coach Stacie Alberico. "We had opportunities, just no luck.'
The Hawks did get a bit of luck from Brooke Talmadge in the first half, shooting the ball in midair to reach the back of the net.
The one other goal for the Hawks came off a free kick from forward Nikol Molano, her eighth of the season.
Not letting the Hawks get too far ahead though was Leigh Ann MacMullen of the Trojans scoring two goals in the game and assisting on one of the team's five goals.
